Make Your Own Chocolate Candy at Home

Researchers have found that chocolate addiction or eating fatty foods releases a hormone called serotonin that regulates intestinal movements of your body. Unutilized serotonin is used by your brain for controlling your appetites, moods and anger. This may be the reason for people becoming happy and active upon eating chocolates.
Scientists, while not considering this an “addiction”, opine that the body becomes more aware of the sensory stimulation and mood changes chocolate cause with its flavor or nutrients.
The good news is you can make chocolate candy on your own. But if you want to become a chocolate maker, you should know the basic terminologies.
  • Chocolate liquor, otherwise called the cocoa liquor or the cocoa mass, comes from roasting and grinding cocoa beans. This contains approximately 53% of cocoa butter, the main ingredient for chocolates.
  • Baking chocolate is the hardened and unsweetened chocolate liquor in blocks after cooling and molding.
  • Cocoa butter, which is the basic ingredient to white chocolate, is the natural fat of coffee beans and extracted from the chocolate liquor before it hardens into baking chocolate. When it is added back, it gives texture and flavor to the chocolate.
  • Couverture gives the glossy patina coated on the truffles and the chocolate candies and this has 35% cocoa butter in it.
  • Cocoa powder is got by dehydrating chocolate liquid without cocoa butter and is used for making Instant chocolate drinks.
  • Bitter chocolate is otherwise called dark chocolate and contains 35% chocolate liquor.
  • Semi-sweet chocolate has 15% chocolate liquor, sweetened by adding sugar.
  • Milk chocolate is the basic ingredient for chocolate candy bars and has chocolate liquor, sugar and milk in it.
  • Tempering is the final step in chocolate making to get shine, smoothness and long shelf life.
The things needed for making your chocolates are a double boiler, a mixing bowl, candy molds or baking sheet, a wooden spatula or spoon. The basic ingredient required is white or dark chocolate but fruits are optional.
Chocolate making starts with melting the chocolate on a double boiler and you should keep on stirring it with a wooden spoon or a spatula. The melted chocolate is poured on a baking sheet or into the candy molds to dry. Fruit-filled chocolate candy is made by submerging the fruit in the melted chocolate. Eliminating the air bubbles, you can air dry the candies or set it in the freezer.
The final step of tempering is done to avoid blotch or crystal formation on the chocolates. Chocolate does not have shine and smoothness on its own. Tempering gives shine to it. Crystals are distributed evenly. The challenge is maintaining specific temperatures during melting. You may choose to use chocolate tempering machines for quicker tempering.
By learning to make chocolates, you can not only gift chocolates to others, but can sell your chocolates and make money out of this so-called “addiction”.

Portraiture

In ancient years, increasingly creative persons are approaching portraiture as contemporary artwork. In years past, the portrait artist arranged their topics in a style most would relegate as conventional artwork.

A portrait picture of Abraham Lincoln done by a famed European portrait artist has seized this style utterly. It is a portrayal of Lincoln on a empty screen background. It is difficult not to consider that a photographer did not journey back in time to click the photo. All though, a snap would likely not carry the profundity of Lincoln’s human face.

However, portrait painters continue to pigment their subjects in traditional manners and this is not likely to change. Specially since many of these portraits grace the residence halls of special of the most spectacular, conventional edifices in the Europe.

Contemporary art portrayal is express becoming a pop look art in popular day art . Specially as more boyish generations grow aged and start buying such art for their secluded assemblings. Such collectings as the American Royalty Collection, George Washington, Babe Ruth, Britney Spears and numerous other iconic designs to this generation have moved concern in portraitures and portrait purchasing.

It is not trying to see wherefore so some individuals love portraitures though. In umpteen cases, untold as the Mona Lisa, it is one of our only links to the past. The only way we can put expressions with the key names throughout our chronicle.

Ballade of an Inca King

Ah! Leave the gold, wealth and land

Says the Inca King…;
In Spain, they leave the bustling streets,
For sail to Peruvian shores;

The murmur of the gold is sweet,

It glows and glistens like the sun
A mountain of gold, or the grave
Awaits the human, Inca-god…!

Spaniards sing their songs of victory

Where breaks the green Peruvian sea;
Who now, worships the Inca King (?)
Guarded behind prisons doors?

They chatter about his golden rings

They watch the winds cross the shores…
They count the days that idle by,
For gold they worship and will die.

Envoy.

Another spring will never pass,

Swallowed up by death, and death
The Spanish voices combine:
Will kill the Inca-King in time;

Before the gold arrives I fear…

It all will be hidden low, low
In the hollow of the earth, in the
Moonlit tunnels of Peru!…

Just a Note: Ricardo Palma has been some of my inspiration to a high degree on the traditions of Peru; as I have tried to put some into poetic verse. The Inca in general has been an ongoing theme I seem to like within my Peruvian poetry, and several characters surrounding them, and locations, such as the Andes, Cuzco, Huancayo, Lima: all in Peru of course; with such names as: Francisco Pizarro, and Bolivar, Atahualpa [Inca King]; Titu-Atauchi, his brother. Dona Veronica Aristizabal.
